About Us and What We Do
SIMRI for the Care and Protection of Respiratory Health in Children

SIMRI: Committed to Pediatric Respiratory Health

The Italian Society for Pediatric Respiratory Diseases (SIMRI) serves as a national and international reference point in the field of pediatric pulmonology. Established by a group of experts and professionals dedicated to children’s respiratory health, SIMRI is a scientific society aiming to promote research, education, and professional development in pediatric pulmonology and respiratory diseases in children.

Our mission focuses on three fundamental pillars:

  • Basic and applied research
  • Health education for parents
  • Scientific dissemination directed at professionals

Through collaboration with healthcare entities, academic institutions, and other scientific societies, we work tirelessly to advance the understanding and treatment of pediatric respiratory diseases, from the most common to the rarest.

SIMRI is not just a scientific society; it is also a community that brings together healthcare professionals such as doctors, pediatricians, researchers, nurses, and physiotherapists, offering them a platform for knowledge exchange, professional development, and networking. We organize conferences, seminars, workshops, and training courses, all aimed at maintaining high standards of competence in treating pediatric respiratory diseases.

One of our most appreciated initiatives is the publication of educational materials and scientific journals, including “Pneumologia Pediatrica” and the “Pediatric Respiratory Journal,” which disseminate the latest advances in pediatric pulmonology. These publications are essential for doctors and researchers, providing constant updates on the latest research, innovative therapies, and particularly interesting clinical cases.

What We Do

At the Italian Society for Pediatric Respiratory Diseases (SIMRI), our activities span various areas, all aimed at improving the understanding, treatment, and prevention of respiratory diseases in children. Our work is based on a holistic approach that includes research, education, and awareness, with the goal of ensuring the best possible care for young patients.

Research

At the heart of our mission is the promotion of scientific research. We collaborate with universities, hospitals, and research centers in Italy and abroad to develop innovative studies on the causes, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric respiratory diseases. Through Study Groups, Scholarships, Calls for Proposals, and Research Seminars, we expand the field of Clinical Research and New Therapies and Diagnostic Approaches.

Training

SIMRI is committed to organizing courses, seminars, conferences, and workshops dedicated to healthcare professionals. These events are designed to provide updates on the latest scientific discoveries and best clinical practices, aiming to enhance the skills of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and other healthcare workers involved in children’s respiratory health.

Awareness and Education

Through the production of educational materials and participation in public information campaigns, we strive to raise awareness about the importance of prevention and early treatment of pediatric respiratory diseases. We provide accessible resources to parents and teachers, promoting healthy lifestyles and safe environments for children.
